Removal and installation the front section of the center console (VW Golf 4)

Front section of the center console

• 1 - steering column trim;
• 2 - Front section of the center console;
• 3 - screws 2 pcs.;
• 4 - ashtray;
• 5 - screw;
• 6 - cigarette lighter;
• 7 - ashtray insert;
• 8 - protective cover;
• 9 - rear section of the center console;
• 10 - plugs 2 pcs.;
• 11 - screws 2 pcs.;
• 12 - bracket

Removal

1. Remove the plugs (10) and unscrew the two screws (11).

2. Release the bottom of the gear shift boot and slide it up the gear shift lever.

3. Remove the ashtray insert (7). Unscrew the bolt (5).

4. Move the ashtray housing forward and upward and remove it from the center console. Disconnect the electrical connector from the cigarette lighter.

5. Remove the screws (3) securing the front part of the console.

6. By moving the front section of the center console upward, remove it over the gear shift lever.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
