The ignition distributor is designed to supply the ignition current in the correct sequence (1-5-3-6-2-4) and at the right time (ignition point) to the correct spark plugs. The ignition distributor is driven by the engine camshaft and is located in the cylinder head.
The spark plug cables are distributed in their own guides, which in many cases must be unscrewed if access to the parts on the top side of the cylinder head is required.
