Transmission
When installing the transfer case, make sure that the fitted bushing is in the correct position between the transfer case and the gearbox.
When installing bearing supports and associated parts, clean the surfaces adjacent to them. Remove grease from the contact surfaces and degrease them.
When replacing the transfer case, fill the unit to the bottom edge of the filler hole.
Retaining rings
Replace retaining rings.
Do not twist retaining rings.
The circlips must rest against the seating surface at the base of the groove.
Bolts, nuts
Loosen and tighten opposing bolts or nuts securing covers and housings crosswise.
Always replace self-locking bolts and nuts.
On all threaded connections, if necessary, lubricate the contact surfaces as well as the bolts/screws and nuts only after installation.
All threaded holes into which self-locking bolts/screws are screwed must be cleaned with a tap to remove any residues of thread varnish. Otherwise, during the next dismantling, their threads may be torn off.
Bearings
Apply needle bearings to the mandrel with the side where the marking is located (metal is thicker).
