Checking the Thermostat (VW Transporter T3)

The intake air temperature is not less than 20°C.

The thermostat housing and vacuum membrane have been checked.



Disconnect hoses "1" and "2" from thermostat "3".

Before checking, the engine should not run for more than 5 minutes.

When idling, disconnect hose "2" from vacuum diaphragm "4". The sound of the flap operating in the thermostat housing should be heard. Otherwise, replace the thermostat.
