The fuel pump is located on the right side of the engine next to the ignition distributor. The fuel pump cannot be opened. If defective, it must be replaced as a set. The pump pressure should be from 0.2 to 0.3 bar.

Removal

Disconnect the battery ground wire. Do not make an open flame. Risk of fire!

Loosen the clamps and disconnect the fuel hoses.

Loosen the fuel pump mounting nuts and remove the fuel pump.

Remove the pump pusher with gaskets and intermediate flange.

Installation

Fill the bottom of the pump with general purpose grease.

Place a new gasket of larger diameter under the intermediate flange.

Insert the intermediate flange and then the pusher.

Caution: Insert the intermediate flange first. Otherwise, there is a risk of the tappet falling into the engine crankcase.

Place a smaller diameter gasket on the intermediate flange.

Insert the fuel pump, tighten the nuts to 15 Nm.

Connect the fuel hoses to the fuel pump and secure them with clamps. The upper hose connects the pump to the carburetor, and the lower one to the fuel tank.

Connect the ground wire to the battery.
