Checking and adjusting the injection quantity of the accelerator pump (VW Transporter T3)

The injection quantity of the accelerator pump should be checked if the fuel consumption is increased, there is a deterioration in the transient process when giving gas, the engine does not respond well to giving gas and opens with a delay.

Remove the carburetor.



Unscrew the stepped washer "1" so that the screw "2" of the cold engine idle speed adjustment does not touch it. Hold the stepped washer in this position.



Place a measuring cup with a funnel under the carburetor.

Open the throttle valve fully (at a pace of one pump per 3 seconds).





Divide the injected quantity by 5. Compare the result with the specified value and adjust if necessary. For the specified value, see the table "Basic carburetor data". Adjust the injection quantity: Loosen the clamping screw "1" and turn the eccentric.

After adjustment, coat the clamping screw with locking paint.

Install the carburetor.

Adjust idle speed and CO content.
