Dismantling
Remove the control panel cover, see above.
Disconnect the battery from the ground.
Loosen the union nut on the drive shaft at the speedometer.
Raise the front of the car.
Remove spare wheel.
(90-297) cut the clamp that fastens the shaft with the protective shell for the rods of the heating system valve.
(90-298) unscrew the hex nut on the holder.
(90-299) remove the circlip from the square tail of the shaft.
(90-300) pull the drive shaft out of the steering knuckle rubber bushing.
Installation
Install the shaft.
Attention! Route the shaft so that it cannot be pinched and bent. Otherwise, the speedometer readings will be unstable, or the shaft will break in a short time. Do not lubricate the connection to the speedometer! Lubricant can get into the device and cause it to freeze.
(90-301) screw the hex nut to the holder. When doing this, pay attention to the markings on the shaft (arrows).
Attention! From 3.90 and chassis number 25HH40185 the drive shaft is supplied with a longer protective hose (all models except "synchro"). Therefore, there is no installation marking. In this case, it must be applied on the protective hose. The distance from the leash to the marking should be 740 mm.
replace the 8 knuckle rubber bushing for the shaft.
(90-300) rubber bushing (arrow) After installation, press in until it stops. The sleeve after installation should not protrude beyond the edge of the hole in the steering knuckle.
Pass the shaft through the rubber bushing.
Install the circlip on the driver and seal the square drive with the special rubber Terostat 33, white.
Tie the drive shaft and heating valve rods together.
Install spare wheel.
Screw on the union nut of the shaft on the speedometer.
Install the control panel cover, see above.
Connect battery to ground.
