Removal and installation rear door glass (VW Tiguan 1)

Removal

The glass seal is removed. The trim is removed. Remove the rear door trim. Remove the plugs-5-. Lower the door glass so that the spacer pin "4" and the spacer insert "3" are opposite the window regulator cutout.

Instructions: If this is not possible due to a faulty electric window lifter "5", then you can unscrew the mounting screws, remove the electric window lifter motor "8" and then lower the glass.

Screw in a 5mm diameter screw (about 70 mm long) into the expansion pin "4" and remove the screw from the expansion insert "2". Screw in a screw with a diameter of 8 mm (about 80 mm long) into the spacer insert "3".

Instructions: When screwing the screw into the spacer insert, do not press it with great force, otherwise it may fall inside the door.

Remove insert "3" from window lift guide "2" and thereby from door glass. Pull glass outward -1- with upward tilt "arrow" from seal and crossbar "2".

Installation

Instructions: For better clarity, the bearing panel is not shown in the figure. When installing the door glass, the spacer insert and spacer pin must be replaced. Before installing the spacer insert "2" and spacer pin "1", check the glass "3" for damage.

Center the position of the spacer insert "2" and insert it with the glass "3" removed. Press the spacer pin "1" firmly into the insert "2". Insert the glass "3" into the door and insert it into the groove of the window lift guide "4". Press the glass "3" into the window lift "4" with a light pressure from above "arrow". Then perform the actions performed during dismantling in the reverse order. Before installing the upholstery, check the operation of the door mechanisms.
