Connecting the VAG 1598 tester (VW Lt 2d)

On vehicles with a 68-pin engine control unit connector, the VAG 1598/18 fault code reader is used; on vehicles with a 121-pin engine control unit connector, the VAG 1598/31 tester is used

1. Turn off the ignition.

2. Remove the left front turn signal and headlight.

3. Disconnect the connector from the control unit and connect the tester connector (figure 3.51a,b).

4. After completing the check, install the headlight and left front turn signal. Check the headlight adjustment.
