Checking the EGR valve (VW Lt 2d)

1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the EGR valve and the tube between the EGR valve and the boost air supply tube.

2. Attach the VAG 1390 hand vacuum pump to the valve (figure 3.49).

3. Create a vacuum with the pump: the valve diaphragm stem should move towards the vacuum connection.

4. Disconnect the hand vacuum pump tube from the EGR valve.
