1. Wear in needle roller bearings is characterized by transmission vibration, "jumping" at the start of a ride, and in extreme cases, due to insufficient lubrication, a metallic screeching sound, as well as the unmistakable grinding and cracking sound during bearing failure.
2. It is quite easy to check if a needle roller bearing is worn without removing the shaft from its place, simply by trying to turn the shaft with one hand while holding the rear axle flange with the other hand, when checking the rear mount, or the front half of the joint when checking the front mount. Any movement between the driveshaft and the front or rear half of the mount indicates significant wear.
3. Check the driveshaft splines for wear. If they are worn out, then you need to purchase a new cardan shaft
4. If the driveshaft splines are worn, also check the condition of the splines on the end of the gearbox output shaft. If they are also worn out, then the main shaft of the gearbox must be replaced.
5. Worn out joints will require the purchase of a new shaft, since they cannot be repaired unless you use the services of some companies that install a different type of joint mounts.

6. You can purchase special kits for servicing a specific type of hinge. If you're considering purchasing such a kit, make sure you have the necessary equipment to use it—for example, you'll need a large metal vise and a proper hammer. Also remember that if the hinge covers are worn or damaged, there is no point in replacing them.
