Removal
Raise the front of the vehicle and place it on supports.
Disconnect the steering shock absorber from the frame and tie rod.
Remove the shock absorber.
Examination
Keeping the steering shock absorber in the working position (horizontally), by compressing and stretching it, check whether it moves throughout its entire working stroke with uniform resistance and whether any jolts are felt. The cushioning during extension and compression should be clearly felt until the final position.
Installation
Before installation, check the shock absorber bushing and replace it if necessary. Press in the bushing.
Install the shock absorber and tighten the bolt on the frame to a torque of 45 Nm (4.5 kgfm), and on the transverse steering rod to a torque of 25 Nm (2.5 kgfm).
