Removing
Raise the front of the vehicle and place it on stands.
Disconnect the steering damper from the frame and tie rod.
Remove shock absorber.
Examination
Holding the steering damper in position (horizontally), by compressing and stretching it, check whether it moves during the entire working stroke with uniform resistance and whether shocks are felt. The tensile and compressive damping should be clearly felt right up to the end position.
Installation
Before installation, check the shock absorber bushing, if necessary, replace it. Press in the bushing.
Install the shock absorber and tighten the bolt on the frame to 45 Nm (4.5 kgcm), and on the tie rod - a torque of 25 Nm (2.5 kgcm).
