1.2/1.4 L FSI engine
Diesel engine: Removal of the air filter is described in the section "Maintenance work".
Note: Positions "4" to "6" apply only to the 1.4L FSI engine
1 - lower part of the air filter housing
2 - rubber bushing
3 - Replaceable air filter element
4 - screw, 3 Nm
5 - intake air temperature sensor
6 — O-ring round section
Always replace.
7 - upper part of the air filter housing
Note: The upper and lower parts of the air cleaner housing form the upper engine cover.
Removal: Unfasten the top engine cover from the holders and from the throttle control unit by moving it upwards at the four corners.
8 — ventilation system hose
To the camshaft housing.
9 - screws, 3 Nm
Caution: Do not loosen or tighten the self-locking screws with a cordless screwdriver, as this may damage the threads in the intake manifold or the lower part of the air cleaner housing.

Note: The upper and lower parts of the air cleaner housing form the upper engine cover.
Removal: Disconnect the hose from the oil separator or check valve, respectively. Unfasten the upper engine cover from the holders and from the throttle control unit by moving it upwards.
2 - sealing gasket
Ensure correct installation position. Replace if damaged.
3 - Replaceable air filter element
4 - lower part of the air filter housing
5 - rubber bushing
6 - screws, 3 Nm
Caution: Do not loosen or tighten the self-locking screws with a cordless screwdriver, as this may damage the threads in the intake manifold or the lower part of the air cleaner housing.
7 - sealing ring
Ensure secure fastening. Replace if damaged.
8 — inlet pipe with regulating flap
9 — lid
