The fuel filler neck is located at the rear on the right side of the car. Both keys - the main and additional - fit the filler cap lock.
If there is a central lock, the cover is automatically locked and unlocked. If the central lock is faulty, the cover can be opened manually (see below). The fuel tank holds about 70 liters of fuel.
The removed tank cap can be secured to the lid during refueling - see figure.
If the pump switches off automatically during refueling, it means the nozzle is touching the fuel - the tank is full (we are talking about modern fuel stations equipped according to European standards). In this case, it is no longer possible to add fuel, since when heated, its volume increases, and the fuel may begin to splash out of the filler neck.
After filling, tighten the cap tightly until it clicks.
Note: In vehicles with a catalytic converter in the exhaust system, never allow the fuel tank to run completely empty. If the fuel supply is interrupted, the engine will run unstably, which may result in misfires - in this case, unburned fuel gets into the exhaust system, which leads to overheating of the catalytic converter.
Emergency opening of the fuel tank cap (in case of central lock failure)
Open the tailgate. In a Limousine, unhook the clips and remove the trunk trim on the right side near the taillight; in a Variant, open the cover in the right side trim of the luggage compartment.
Slightly push the locking rod in front of the white diaphragm housing back in the direction of the arrow - see figure.
