Front seat fastening elements

  • 1 - cap;
  • 2 - screw;
  • 3 - inner seat guide;
  • 4 - cap;
  • 5 - screw;
  • 6 - outer seat guide;
  • A, B - sequence of removing the decorative trim from the inner seat guide;
  • C, D - sequence of removing the decorative cover of the outer seat guide;
  • 7 - seat mounting bolts, 23 Nm

  • 1 - Airbag electrical connector;
  • 2 - holder of electrical connectors;
  • 3 - Electrical connector for seat heating;
  • 4 - electrical connector of the VAG-5094 adapter;
  • 5 - Electrical socket on the front seat

Removal



1. To remove the front seat, you need to use a special VAG-5094 adapter for airbags.

2. Turn off the ignition and remove the ground cable from the battery.



3. Move the front seat forward as far as it will go. Remove the cap and unscrew the screw securing the decorative trim of the inner seat guide.

4. Remove the decorative trim of the front seat inner guide by lifting the rear part of the trim (arrow A) and, moving the trim (arrow B) backwards, remove it from the guide (see figure Front seat fastening elements).

5. Remove the cap and unscrew the screw securing the outer decorative cover of the seat guide.

6. Remove the decorative trim from the outer guide of the front seat by lifting the front part of the trim (arrow C) and moving it backwards (arrow D), removing it from the guide.

7. Move the front seat all the way back.

8. Unscrew the bolts (7) securing the front seat. By moving it backwards, release the front seat from the guides and remove it from the vehicle interior.

Warning: Before disconnecting the front seat air bag system electrical connectors, discharge static electricity from your body by briefly touching the vehicle body with your hands.


Warning: Disconnect the side airbag electrical connector (1) from the connector base (2) (see figure Location of electrical connectors on the front seat with airbag).


Warning: If equipped, disconnect the front seat heating electrical connector (3).


Warning: Connect the electrical connector (4) of the VAG-5094 adapter to the electrical connector (5).


Warning: The electrical connector of the VAG-5094 adapter must be connected to the socket at all times while the front seat is removed.


Installation



1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.


2. Tighten the front seat mounting bolts to 25 Nm.

3. Connect the ground wire to the battery.

4. If the airbag indicator lamp lights up after installing the front seat, indicating a malfunction, you must contact a specialized workshop to retrieve the faults recorded in the memory unit.
