Wheel replacement (VW Golf 2)

To change a wheel, remove the spare wheel and jack from the recess under the carpet in the luggage compartment (figure 28).



Bring the air pressure in the spare tire to normal.

Place wheel chocks under the diagonally opposite wheel to the one being replaced.

Place the jack under the special platform of the bottom sill beam. Unscrew the wheel mounting bolts. Raise the car until the wheel being removed is suspended.

Remove the wheel and install the spare in its place. Lower the car and tighten the wheel mounting bolts to 110 Nm.
