Installation of lighting (light) (VW Golf 2)

To adjust the light setting, there are two adjusting bolts accessible from the front of the vehicle (figure 4.12 and photo 4.13). Precise installation of headlights is only possible using special equipment at a service station. Before installing the light, the car must be prepared as follows:






1. Check and, if necessary, adjust the tire pressure according to technical data.

2. Fill the tank at least 90%.

3. The car must be loaded with a weight of 75 kg (one person in the driver's seat).

4. Place the car on a flat surface. Install the headlights with the low beam on. If it is necessary to check the installation of the light, the car should be installed 10 m from the wall, having previously fulfilled the conditions described in subparagraphs 1 through 4. Measure the distance from the center of the headlight to the ground. Mark a line on the wall with chalk at the height of the center of the headlights and turn on the low beam. The boundary of light and shadow should be:

a) for normal headlights - 12 cm below the drawn lines.

b) for fog lights - 20 cm below the line marked for these lights. If a deviation is detected, the light must be adjusted at a service station.
