Examination
Periodically check the condition and reliability of the hoses, especially before the onset of winter.
Inspect each hose for cracks, fraying, delamination, swelling or softening of the rubber.
Cracks are more visible when the hose is compressed. The condition of the rubber can be determined by touch (too soft or spongy).
Identify coolant leaks by the colored deposits that remain after the antifreeze dries (if the cooling system is topped up with hard water, the deposits will be rusty and white in color).
