Fuel delivery quantity diagram
1. Connect a voltmeter with additional wires to the fuel pump. Press the remote control, measure and record the measured value; about 2 V less than the 12 V battery voltage.
2. To eliminate excess pressure, open and close the fuel tank cap.
3. Disconnect the fuel return line (1) from a branch. Connect an additional hose with a pressure gauge using an adapter, lower the other end into a measuring container. The figure shows a 4-cylinder petrol engine.
4. Turn on the remote control by gradually closing the tap until the pressure gauge shows 3 bar. Leave the valve in this position.
5. Empty measuring container.
6. Turn on the remote control for 30 seconds.
7. From the value of the recorded voltage, determine the required value of the minimum feed quantity according to the diagram. For example: a voltage value of 10 V corresponds to a minimum feed quantity = 500 cm3.
8. Compare the minimum feed quantity with the measured feed quantity.
Attention! If the voltage is normal, but the amount of delivery is still too low, check for kinked or clogged fuel lines, and check for a clogged fuel filter. If everything is in order, check the fuel pump check valve.
