Removing
Drain coolant.
Disconnect both hoses from the thermostat housing.
Disconnect the upper water pump hose.
Disconnect the temperature switch connector.
Unscrew the hose flange from the back of the thermostat housing.
Unscrew the water pipe from the right cylinder head, bend the clamp of the oil dipstick tube, pull the tube out of the thermostat housing.
Remove the 3 water pump pulley bolts.
Unscrew the water pipe flange at the bottom of the water pump using a bent hexagon socket wrench.
Unscrew the 3 water pump mounting bolts - 2 on the right and one on the left, remove the water pump with the stuffing box.
Installation
Thoroughly clean the water pump flange before installation.
Be sure to install new seals and gaskets.
Install the water pump with a new seal and tighten the bolts to 20 Nm.
Fasten the pipe flange with an angled socket wrench to the bottom of the water pump, tighten the bolts to 20 Nm.
Insert the water tube into the thermostat housing and fasten to the cylinder with a new gasket with a tightening torque of 20 Nm.
Screw the flange with a new gasket to the rear of the thermostat housing and tighten to 7 Nm.
Fasten the oil dipstick tube to the water tube with a new clamp.
Connect both hoses to the thermostat housing and fasten the clamps. For this, there are special tongs from Hazet.
Connect the top hose to the water pump and secure it with a clamp.
Screw on the water pump pulley and tighten the bolts to a torque of 20 Nm, do not forget to install spring washers under the bolts.
Connect the coolant temperature sensor connector.
Install and tighten the V-belt.
Fill with coolant, remove air from the system.
After a test drive, check all connections for leaks.
