The thermostat is located in a housing attached to the water pump flange on the left side of the engine compartment.
Removal
Clamp both water hoses connected to the thermostat housing or drain the coolant into a container.
Raise the rear of the vehicle.
Use a wrench to unscrew 2 bolts from the thermostat housing.
Pull the housing down and remove the thermostat.
Installation
Before installation, check the thermostat if necessary.
Insert the thermostat so that the upper spring is in the housing.
Insert the housing flange with a new gasket, tighten both mounting bolts to a torque of 7 Nm.
Fill with coolant.
After a test drive, check the tightness of the thermostat housing gasket.
