The electrical fan temperature switch is located on the bottom left of the radiator. The temperature switch has two switching modes. At elevated temperatures, it turns on increased fan speed, see table.
Removing
Remove 5 self-tapping screws from the lower grille, remove the grille.
Disconnect the connector from the switch, unscrew the switch.
Close the radiator with a suitable plug or drain the coolant from it into a vessel.
Installation
When installing, install the switch with a new gasket and carefully tighten to 7 Nm.
Connect electrical wire.
Examination
Check fan motor fuse and replace if necessary.
Check if the heatsink is hot in the area of the temperature switch.
Disconnect the temperature switch connector, connect the terminals of 3 wires to the temperature switch with a short jumper. First bridge the + terminal (plus) with terminal 1 and then with terminal 2.
If in both cases the electric fan starts to work, replace the temperature switch.
If the fan does not turn on, or turns on only in one case, check the wiring according to the electrical diagrams. Check the quality and reliability of the connections. Replace fan motor if necessary.
Check the function of the new temperature switch. Warm up the engine and let it idle until the radiator fan turns on.
