If the thermostat does not open, the engine will quickly overheat. If the thermostat is constantly left open, the engine will not warm up to its operating temperature.
Drain coolant.
Remove the thermostat, warm up the thermostat in clean coolant.
Control the temperature with a thermometer.
The beginning of the thermostat opening is about 85°C. End around 105°C. Opening stroke 8 mm.
Before heating the thermostat, measure the size "A".
After heating the thermostat to approximately 100°C, the size "b" must be larger "A" about 8 mm.
