Tension
Check the V-belt for wear, replace the worn belt.
Loosen the mounting bolt on the tie bar.
Use a crowbar to push the generator upwards so that the V-belt in the middle can be pressed in with your thumb no more than 5 mm (for new belt 2mm), tighten the tie bar bolt.
Check the V-belt tension again.
Replacing the V-belt
Dismantling
Remove the cooling pump V-belt, see the relevant section.
Loosen the tie bar mounting bolt.
Move the generator down and remove the V-belt.
Installation
Place the new V-belt, tension the belt, tighten the tension bolt.
Install and tension the cooling pump V-belt
