Dismantling
Remove brake pads.
Drill the brake linings with a suitable drill.
Remove the drilled rivets from the brake pads with a punch.
Installation
Brake linings are available in different thicknesses: 6.0 mm and 6.5 mm. Oversized shims are used if the drum has been bored before.
Thoroughly clean the adjacent surfaces of the brake pads. Do not apply any adhesives between brake pads and linings.
(46-051) riveting the linings with the appropriate tool.
When riveting new linings, start from the middle.
Install brake pads.
Dismantling
Remove the brake drum with rear wheel hub, see "Dismantling and installation of the brake drum".
Remove brake pads, see above.
Push the left piston into the cylinder. Put on a protective cap.
Insert the right spring and insert the right piston. Put on a protective cap.
Installation
Install the cylinder and fasten with a bolt.
Screw the brake pipe to the cylinder. Tighten carefully!
Install brake pads.
Adjust brake.
Install the brake drum, see "Dismantling and installation of the brake drum".
Bleed the brakes, see below.
During road trials, check the brakes.
