Measure the brake disc thickness. In workshops, a special template is used for this, because. when the brake disc wears, a collar forms. The thickness of the disc can also be determined with a conventional sliding gauge, but at the same time, a 3 mm thick gasket must be laid on each side of the disc. To have the exact thickness of the disc, subtract 6 mm of the thickness of the spacers from the readings.
The thickness of the new brake disc is 13 mm. If there are scratches, the disc can be sanded in the workshop on each side by a maximum of 0.5 mm. The minimum thickness of the disc after grinding should be 12 mm.
If the wear limit of 11 mm is reached, the disc must be replaced. At the same time, mount new linings.
Attention! Be sure to grind or replace both discs.
