NOTE: The repair location must be in an area protected from water, such as the wheel well behind the mudguard. The plug connector must be secured with a clamp to the body or to the cable.
For repairs, straight sections of the air duct should be selected.
Using the VAS 6228 cutting collet, cut the air duct at a right angle.
Mark the end of the air duct on the vehicle and the end of the section to be installed using a waterproof pencil (Fig. 4.45).
The marks are used for control after repairs have been carried out.
After this, route the new air duct along the original mounting points.
Insert both ends of the pipe into the plug connector until they stop.
The air ducts are inserted into the connector sufficiently if the first color mark is not visible (the second mark remains visible).
