If it is established that the thread for the spark plug in the cylinder head is damaged, it can be re-done. For this, BERU supplies, among other things, a tool and a repair kit. The damaged thread is removed using a special drill; the cylinder head does not need to be removed from the engine for this. Then a new thread is cut in the cylinder head, into which the spark plug with a special threaded sleeve is screwed. This additionally installed sleeve is securely held in the cylinder head and does not affect the compression.
