If it is determined that the spark plug thread in the cylinder head is damaged, it can be remade. For this, BERU supplies, among other things, tools and a repair kit. Damaged threads are removed with a special drill; the cylinder head does not need to be removed from the engine for this. Then a new thread is cut into the cylinder head, into which a spark plug with a special threaded sleeve is screwed. This optional bushing holds securely in the cylinder head and does not compromise compression.
