Adjusting the lock loop (VW Touareg 1)

NOTE: The adjustment of the door closer hinge is done in the same way.


Remove the cover of the lock shelf.

The guide wedges and trunnions must be loosened.

Release the lock loop by loosening screws 1 (Fig. 8.15).

Release the lock loop by loosening screws 1 (Fig. 8.15).


Move the lock loop back in the direction of the arrow and tighten bolts 1.

Close the tailgate and check its adjustment.

By loosening bolts 1, you can move the lock loop in the grooves.

After adjustment, tighten bolts 1.

Tightening torque: 25 Nm.

Adjust the guide wedges and trunnions.

Adjusting the guide wedge and guide pin



Before adjusting the guide wedges and trunnions, the luggage compartment door must be adjusted separately.

Tighten screws 1 and 5 only enough so that the screw heads lightly press against guide wedge 6 and guide pin 2.

The adjustment of the guide wedges and trunnions in the grooves must be carried out without the use of force.

Before adjustment, pull out the guide wedges 6 on the luggage compartment door 4 as far as possible.

Then, to set the wedges and pins in the correct position, close the tailgate by pressing lightly in the middle.

Open the tailgate and tighten screws 1 and 5 to a tightening torque of 6 Nm.
