Removing
Remove the grille.
Remove the flexible cable clutch 1 upwards from the holder (pic. 8.6).
Disconnect the flexible cable.
Disconnect plug 2 of bonnet contact switch F266.
Remove bolts 1 from the radiator frame and bumper bracket.
Remove the lock support 3 together with the hood lock in the direction of the arrow in Figure 8.7.
NOTE: For better visibility, the hood latch and latch support have been removed from the radiator frame. The lock support can only be removed from the radiator frame downwards.
Unscrew the screws 1 of the hood lock 2 from the lock support 3 in the radiator frame.
Remove the hood latch up from the hole in the radiator frame (pic. 8.8).
To remove the lock drive cable 3, squeeze the loop 2 and the cable in the direction of the arrows in Figure 8.9.
The locking mechanism is released and you can now remove the cable from the hood latch 1.
Installation
NOTE: When installing the hood latch, tighten the bolts on the latch carrier first.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Tightening torque: bolts 19 Nm.
