Removal



Remove the radiator grille.

Pull the flexible cable coupling 1 upwards out of the holder (Fig. 8.6).

Disconnect the flexible cable.

Disconnect the connector 2 of the bonnet switch F266.

Remove bolts 1 from the radiator frame and bumper bracket.

Remove the lock support 3 together with the bonnet lock in the direction of the arrow in Figure 8.7.

NOTE: For clarity, the hood latch and latch support have been removed from the radiator frame. The latch support can only be removed with the radiator frame in a downward direction.




Remove screws 1 of the bonnet lock 2 from the lock support 3 in the radiator frame.

Remove the bonnet lock upwards from the hole in the radiator frame (Fig. 8.8).

To remove the lock drive cable 3, squeeze loop 2 and the cable in the direction of the arrows in Figure 8.9.

The locking mechanism will be released and you can now remove the cable from the bonnet lock 1.

Installation



NOTE: When installing the hood lock, tighten the bolts on the lock support first.


Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Tightening torque: bolts 19 Nm.
