Checking the oil level in the rear final drive or adding oil (VW Tiguan 1)

The vehicle is in a horizontal position. Install the tray -VAS 6208- under the main gear. Unscrew bolt "1".



The oil level is correct when the rear final drive is filled to the lower edge of the oil filler hole. Screw in and tighten bolt "1". Tightening torque 15 Nm. Add oil using the filling device for the Haldex 2 coupling -VAS 6291- until oil begins to flow out between the adapter of this device and the gearbox housing. Transmission oil for the rear final drive is supplied as a spare part. Remove the filling device and adapter; under certain circumstances, some excess oil may leak out. The oil level is correct when the rear final drive is filled to the bottom of the oil filler hole. Screw in and tighten bolt "1". Tightening torque 15 Nm.
