Cold engine won't startProblems with automatic start
a) the vacuum diaphragm is not workingRemove the obstruction or replace the upper part of the carburetor
b) the bimetallic spring is damaged or disconnectedConnect or replace the spring
c) the air damper is stuckRelease the damper
The float needle valve is stuckClean or replace the valve
The carburetor is leaking fuelIf the engine is flooded due to overflow of the carburetor, start it with the accelerator pedal fully depressed
High idle speedThe automatic starter does not turn off due to damage to the bimetallic springReplace the bimetallic spring
The engine idles unsteadily and stallsIdling speed is too lowSet the recommended speed
The idle mixture composition is incorrectly adjustedAdjust the mixture composition
The idle jet is cloggedRemove and clean the jet
The fuel shut-off solenoid valve is faultyCheck and replace the valve if necessary
No engine preheatingTurn the automatic starting unit so that the bimetallic spring stretches more
