Removal

Raise the rear of the car, place it on supports, and remove the wheels.

Loosen the nuts on the lower thrust rods.

Unscrew the tensioners on top of the levers and remove them.

Remove the bushing support cover, remove the bushing support from the right side together with the rubber bushing.

Loosen the lock nuts and internal hex bolts securing the levers to the elastic balance rod by turning them several times and remove the levers. Remove the balancer and levers to the right.

Installation

Check the elastic rod, rubber bushings, shock absorber rings and rubber stops, replace if necessary. Push in the elastic rod.

(The original material is available on the portal: «VWmanual.ru»)

Push the levers onto the elastic rod. The left lever is marked with the letter "L".

Caution! The left lever must be facing down, with the bolt facing forward. Install the right lever symmetrically to the left.

Tighten and lock the bolts. Install bushing supports and rubber bushings. Sprinkle the bushings with talc, remembering to place washers between their supports and the levers.

Attention! The supports of both bushings must be installed symmetrically to each other, so as to align the oblique position of the elastic rod with respect to the sides.

Install the stretchers (see the picture below "Rear suspension parts").

Install the wheels, lower the vehicle, tighten the wheel mounting bolts to 130 Nm (13.0 kgfm).
