Remove the plugs from the side member, pull the belt with the tightening lock "2" through the holes in the side member and tighten it under the cantilever beam "1".

Place a suitable spring compressor as close as possible to the spring coils. The illustration shows a spring compressor from the VW Group. The HAZET 4900-2A tool with the HAZET 4900-10 receivers can also be used.

Compress the spring so that it can be removed.

Remove the coil spring, supports and receiver "2" for the upper support "1".

Installation



Note: Replace coil springs only at the same time for the entire axle, using springs with the same color marking and from the same manufacturer.


Check if the lower galvanized support is damaged; replace the support if necessary.

Install the compressed coil spring together with the supports. The end of the spring coil "arrow" should be adjacent to the support stop.

Slowly release the coil spring and remove the spring compressor. Make sure that the outer surfaces of the spring are not damaged.


If necessary install subsequent muffler.

Lower the car.
