Safety instructions
When working under a car, it must be supported on reliable support trestles. Supporting the car with a side jack alone is not enough. Danger to life!
Place the vehicle on jacks only when unloaded, on a level, hard surface.
Support the vehicle with jack stands so that one leg on the side faces outward if necessary.
Lifting and jacking points
Caution: For vehicles with a plastic channel, remove the cover above the lifting point before lifting.

Depending on the equipment, the receivers for the side jack are marked with an embossed "arrow" on the side member.
- POLO: distance to the front wheel arch is 16 cm, to the rear wheel arch - 21.5 cm;
- IBIZA: the distance to the front wheel arch is 17 cm, to the rear wheel arch - 21 cm.

Place the jack lever against the side member so that the rib is covered by the jaws of the jack lever "arrow". Rotate the jack lead screw until its heel rests on the platform with its entire surface.
Raise the car with a jack until the wheel is above the platform. Support the car with jack stands.
Wheels that remain on the floor when the vehicle is raised should be blocked from rolling forward and backward using wedges. Do not rely on the handbrake, which must be released for some work.
Lifting points for lifting platform and garage jack
Caution: To avoid damage to the body, use suitable rubber or wooden pads. Under no circumstances should the vehicle be lifted through the transmission, engine sump, front or rear axle, as this may cause serious damage.

At the front - at the vertical reinforcement of the side member in the area of the embossed mark for the side jack. The reinforcement of the side member should be located in the center of the support plate of the lifting platform.

At the rear - at the vertical reinforcement of the side member in the area of the embossed mark, where the side jack is also placed. The reinforcement of the side members should be located in the center of the support plate of the lifting platform.
