1 - Nameplate and identification number

They are located next to the right in the moisture trap box, just behind the rubber seal. They are visible through the window of the moisture trap box.
For certain export countries the nameplate is missing.
2 - Engine number
It is located in the engine compartment between the engine block and the cylinder head. On four-cylinder engines, the number is visible from the front.
Additionally, the engine number is located on a barcode sticker on the timing belt cover.
On six-cylinder engines, the number is visible when looking from the front right between the shock absorber mount and the air filter.
On such engines, the barcode sticker is located on the right side of the cylinder head cover in the direction of travel.
Vehicle data plate
On Limousine models it is pasted on the latch plate at the rear left in the trunk. On Variant models it is located at the rear left in the spare wheel compartment.

The sticker contains the following information about the vehicle:

- 1 - Production number
- 2 - Vehicle identification number
- 3 - Conventional type designation
- 4 - Engine type/power
- 5 - Letters indicating the engine and transmission type
- 6 - Body color number/interior equipment symbol
- 7 - Conventional designation of additional equipment.
Data from positions 2-7 are also found in the maintenance plan.
