V-belts/spark plugs
Note:V-belts are subject to the greatest loads during operation compared to all other engine components. Therefore, belts are subject to very high quality requirements.
When replacing a belt, it is not enough to simply install another belt of the same size. For maximum safety, use only Volkswagen V-belts that are specifically designed for your vehicle. The necessary belts are available from your Volkswagen dealer.
Spark plugs must be replaced according to the maintenance schedule. If spark plugs are replaced ahead of schedule, please note the following:

- The engine, spark plugs and ignition system are mutually adjusted. To ensure smooth engine operation and to avoid engine failure, use only Volkswagen spark plugs. It is especially important to pay attention to the number of electrodes and their calorific value.
