The VW bus manufactured since August 85 is equipped with a dynamic oil pressure control system. This means that control is carried out regardless of the engine speed.
When the engine speed is less than 2000 rpm and the oil pressure drops below 0.3 bar, the oil pressure indicator lamp on the instrument panel flashes. When the engine speed is more than 2000 rpm, the oil pressure must rise to at least 0.9 bar, otherwise the indicator lamp starts flashing again and the buzzer sounds.
If the oil pressure warning light starts to flash and the buzzer sounds while driving, first of all, immediately turn off the engine and check the oil level and, if necessary, add oil. If the oil level is normal, or after adding oil the warning light continues to flash, do not continue driving under any circumstances. Tow the car and determine the defect using the diagnostic table.
