The list of Tiguan communication systems includes radio or radio navigation systems, telephone system, antennas, speaker systems, RSE multimedia system, GD changer, iPod player socket, USB port for MP3 player, and audio system amplifier. Some equipment is offered only as an option, i.e. not all systems may be installed in the car. When repairing or troubleshooting, use the VAS 5051 tester or VAS 5052 tester or their later modifications in the Guided Fault Finding mode.

Instructions: The radio number in the spare parts catalog is on the sticker on the radio body! When replacing the radio, be sure to enable coding, which makes it difficult to use in case of theft. If the security code is unknown, it can be requested through known systems. When requesting, you must specify the identification number of the radio. It is on the sticker placed on the side of the radio. The identification number is duplicated on the side wall of the radio. When repairing or troubleshooting, use the VAS 5051 tester or VAS 5052 tester or their later modifications in the Guided Fault Finding mode. After connecting the battery, it is necessary to check the vehicle equipment (radio, clock, electrical equipment of comfort systems).

The RCD 300 audio system consists of a radio and speakers in the doors. The radio has a built-in amplifier with a power of 2x20 W, and a 4x20 W configuration is supplied upon request. The front acoustics are 3-way, and 2-way speakers are installed in the rear. Depending on the configuration ordered, the speakers are installed either only in the front (output power 2x20 W), either front or back (output power 4x20 W). In the 2x20 W version, the speakers are installed in the front doors: one low-frequency, one mid-range and one high-frequency speaker in each door. In the 4x20 W version, additional speakers are installed in the rear doors; on each side there is one low-frequency and one high-frequency speaker. To expand the functions of the radio, there are connectors for connecting a CD changer; when using a telephone, there is a function for muting the sound during a call and an input for the telephone's NF signal. The player built into the radio can read CDs in CD-R and CD-RW formats.

Instructions: Playing 8cm music CDs (minidiscs) impossible. Playback Mix-CD (compact discs containing computer data and music) impossible. The antenna is built into the rear window. The antenna is made remote.

Electronic anti-theft system

The radio has a convenient electronic anti-theft protection system that works together with the instrument cluster. When connecting the radio after disconnecting the power, it works without entering a security code. Necessary conditions: the first activation of the electronic anti-theft protection system was carried out, the radio is installed in the same car.

Deactivating the electronic anti-theft system

Re-commissioning of a previously blocked radio is only possible after entering the correct code for the electronic anti-theft system.

Instructions: The code for the electronic anti-theft system is located on the sticker together with the radio number on the radio card. For security reasons, do not keep the radio card in the car. If necessary, ask the customer for the code. If the radio is replaced, use the code for the new radio. Tell the customer the new code. Find out the radio code. Turn on the radio. The display of the radio will show SAFE, and then: 1000. You do not need to press any buttons to enter this mode. The position of the code being entered is shown on the display next to the four multi-function keys as _X_ symbols. Using the four multi-function keys, enter the code indicated on the sticker for the radio card in the correct sequence. Press the corresponding keys repeatedly in turn until the code is displayed in the center of the display. Confirm the entry by pressing the multi-function key next to the word ENTER. After this, the radio will be ready for use again and will operate in the same mode as before switching off.

Instructions: If an incorrect number was entered when unlocking, the display will again flash the message SAFE, and then 1000. Now you can repeat the process again. The attempt number is displayed on the display. If the code is entered incorrectly again, the device will be locked for about an hour, i.e. it cannot be unlocked during this period of time. The display will show the message SAFE. After an hour, (the radio and ignition must remain on) the indication of unlocking attempts on the display will disappear, and the electronic lock can be removed in the manner described above. The device operates in a cycle of two unsuccessful attempts, the hourly lock continues further.
