Lifting a car (VW Beetle)

To perform a number of jobs, the vehicle must be raised. This is done using a stationary lift or jack. To ensure the stability of the raised vehicle, supports should be used.

Lifting with a stationary lift

When lifting the vehicle, it may only be supported in the places shown in the figures.

Front: at the frame crossmember

Rear: under the frame cross member supports or under the outer cross members

Lifting with a jack

To lift the car, the jack is installed at the front or rear (only at the frame crossmember).

Caution! When lifting, do not, under any circumstances, grasp any non-load-bearing parts near the jack installation locations. You also cannot lift the car by placing a jack under the engine crankcase or under the gearbox, as this could cause serious damage.
