Set the front wheels straight.
Install the front wheel toe-in gauge on the edge of the wheel disk at the height of its center. Set the instrument scale to zero and mark the measurement point with chalk.
Roll the car forward half a turn of the wheels. Install the device for measuring the convergence of the wheels at the rear on the edge of the wheel disk to the point marked with chalk and measure.
Compare measured value with desired value (see table at the end of the chapter).
Toe-in can only be adjusted on the right tie rod. To do this, loosen the inner clamping collar and the outer hex nut on it.
Set the prescribed toe-in value by turning the tie rod.
Attention! If the toe-in is adjusted using an optical measuring device, it must be checked whether the steering wheel is in the middle position with the wheels mounted straight (steering wheel spokes must be horizontal). Otherwise, the steering wheel must be rearranged.
Attention! If the toe-in is adjusted using a mechanical measuring device, then during a test drive it is necessary to check whether the steering wheel is in the middle position when driving in a straight line. If not, rearrange it.
Secure the tie rod with tie-rods and locknuts.
