Note. Only 50% of the total oil volume can be drained from an automatic transmission, as the rest will remain on the control elements and in the torque converter housing.
Attention! After draining the oil or removing the oil sump, do not start the engine or tow the vehicle.
Before filling with oil, screw in and tightly tighten both drain plugs. Fill the drive gear with 1.4 liters of SAE 90 hypoid gear oil, or SAE 80 in arctic climates. Fill the planetary gear housing with 2.5 liters of the specified type of oil using a clean container and funnel. Start the engine and, without moving, go through all gears with the selector. Then check the oil level as described in the previous paragraph. After a test drive, correct the oil level and tighten the oil sump bolts.
