Note: Idle speed, CO content and ignition timing are checked and adjusted together.
Warm up the engine, oil temperature is at least 80 degrees, Connect all consumers of electricity.
If the injection pipes have been loosened or replaced, before checking the engine, increase the engine speed to 3000 rpm and then let the engine run at idle speed for at least 2 minutes.
Attention: Connect instrumentation only with the ignition off.
Check ignition timing.
Verify that the idle speed control valve is operating. To do this, turn on the ignition and put your hand on the valve. It should vibrate and its buzzer should be heard. The valve is located next to the throttle valve.
Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the air filter and close the hole in the fitting with a plug.
Connect the RPM meter and stroboscope according to their operating instructions. Insert the CO measurement probe into the muffler pipe.
Unplug connector -1- from terminal 1 of ignition coil at connection to idle speed control control valve.
Unplug connectors -2- from idle speed control control unit and connect them together.
Attention: When carrying out inspection and adjustment work, the radiator fan must not turn on.
Check engine speed and CO content and, if necessary, by turning the idle speed adjusting screw -1- and the CO content adjusting screw -2- alternately, adjust the specified values. If the adjusting screws are sealed, drill through the cap seals and screw in the self-tapping screws. Tighten the self-tapping screws together with the caps.
Engine index | CO content % | RPM |
DJ | 2,0±0,5 | 800±50 |
GW | 1,3±0,5 | 870±50 |
Connect the crankcase ventilation hose to the air filter.
Attention: If this increases the CO content, the cause is not an incorrect adjustment, but the ejection of waste from the engine crankcase due to oil dilution during operation, mainly in short sections. After repeated trips over long distances, the proportion of fuel in oil and the CO content in the exhaust are normalized. You can also achieve this faster with about 30 minutes of high speed driving or by changing the oil.
Disable control devices with the ignition off.
Connect all disconnected hoses and electrical wires.
After adjustment, seal the CO content adjustment screw with a blue cap.
