Adjusting the brake light switch (VW Lt 2d)

The brake light switch is secured with two nuts (figure 8.37).

If a 7mm long sleeve fits into space A, no adjustment is required. If the distance is more or less than 7 mm, remove the switch. Screw in nut 2 until distance A equals 7 mm. Install the switch and tighten locking nut 3 to 10 Nm. Turn on the ignition. Press the brake pedal - the brake lights should come on. Release the brake pedal - the brake lights should go out.
