Before performing these procedures, it is necessary to interrogate the fault memory.

Clearing the fault memory



1. Connect the VAG 1551 tester. The display should show the following information:

  • LT HELP Diagnostics
  • Dial function XX


2. Enter "05" to select the "Clear Fault Memory" function. The display should show the following information:

  • LT Q diagnostics
  • 05 - Clearing the fault memory


3. Confirm by pressing the "Q" button. The display should show the following information:

  • LT Diagnostics →
  • Fault memory cleared


4. The fault memory is cleared. Press "→". The display should show the following information:

  • LT HELP Diagnostics
  • Dial function XX


Completing the output



5. Press "06" to select the "Complete Output" function. The display should show the following information:

  • LT Q diagnostics
  • 06 — Completion of withdrawal


6. Confirm by pressing the "Q" button. The display should show the following information:

  • Diagnostics of LT HELP
  • Dial function XX


7. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the tester. Turn on the ignition. The ABS and EDL warning lights should go out after 2 seconds.
