Engine speed limiter (models with 2.4L engine) (VW Lt 28)

34. Some ignition systems may be equipped with a distributor, which includes an engine speed limiter installed in the rotor (see photo).

35. The limiter is a spring-loaded contact in the runner, which, due to centrifugal forces, expands when the engine speed exceeds 5500-5900 rpm, thereby stopping the supply of current to the spark plugs.
