Removal
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
Remove the cap from the left front wheel.
Using a screwdriver, remove the retaining ring or cotter pin from the square end of the speedometer cable.
Pull the cable out of the steering knuckle.
Open the trunk and remove the covering from its floor.
Pull the cable inside through the rubber bushing on the side.
Loosen the union nut on the speedometer and remove the cable.
Installation
Install the cable into the speedometer. Make sure that the cable is not bent or broken. In addition, it should not rub against the wheel suspension or moving parts.
Secure the cable with the retaining ring on the hub cap.
Screw the cable onto the speedometer.
Connect the ground wire to the battery.
