Removal and installation of fuel injection pump (VW Polo 3)

Removal



1. Remove the air filter.

2. Remove the upper part of the timing belt cover.

3. Remove the cylinder head cover.

4. Disconnect the fuel lines from the high-pressure fuel pump.

5. Seal the channels with cloth.

6. Disconnect the wiring connector (arrow) from the fuel injection pump and disconnect the connector from the bracket (fig. 7.19).

7. Unscrew the bolts 1 securing the fuel injection pump pulley (fig. 7.14).

8. Unscrew the bracket mounting bolts 1 (Fig. 7.46).

8. Unscrew the bracket mounting bolts 1 (Fig. 7.46).


9. Unscrew the rear support mounting bolt (arrow) (Fig. 7.47).

9. Unscrew the rear support mounting bolt (arrow) (Fig. 7.47).


10. Remove the fuel injection pump.

Installation



11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
