Releasing the airbag on the three-spoke steering wheel

Releasing the airbag on the four-spoke steering wheel
- 1 - steering wheel;

Removing
1. Perform the following steps before removing the airbag.
2. Switch off ignition and remove a wire of weight from the accumulator. When removing the ground wire from the battery, no people should be in the car.
3. Insulate the wire connected to the negative battery terminal to avoid accidental connection of the wire.
4. Disconnect the single-pin electrical connector for supplying power to the airbag system.
5. Set the front wheels to drive straight ahead. In this case, the steering wheel should be in the middle position.
Warning: Failure to follow the above instructions may result in failure of the airbag system.
6. Turn the steering wheel 90°counterclockwise.
7. Unlock the steering column.
8. Move the steering wheel all the way towards you and down.
9. Fix the position of the steering wheel.
10. Release the airbag by inserting a 175 mm screwdriver blade into the hole in the steering wheel from the back of the steering wheel (see fig. Releasing the airbag on the three-spoke steering wheel and fig. Releasing the airbag on the four-spoke steering wheel).
11. By moving the screwdriver handle up (arrow) (see fig. Releasing the airbag on the three-spoke steering wheel and fig. Releasing the airbag on the four-spoke steering wheel), use a screwdriver blade to press down the retainer 9 and release the retaining clip 3 of the airbag.
12. Move the airbag away from the steering wheel.
13. Turn the steering wheel 180°clockwise and release the airbag from the second retaining clip in the same way.
14. Set the steering wheel to the middle position. In this case, the wheels will be set for rectilinear movement.
15. Disconnect the airbag single-pin electrical connector.
16. Remove the airbag.
17. Do not change the position of the steering wheel.
Installation
1. Move the airbag to the steering wheel and connect the airbag 1-pin connector.
2. Install the airbag on the steering wheel so that the fixing clips are positioned against the holes.
3. Being careful, press down on the airbag until it locks into place.
4. Connect the ground wire to the battery, while there should not be people in the car.
