- if you are installing an old clutch, make sure that all previously applied marks match. The new clutch can be installed in any position, since it has not yet been ground in;

- to center the driven disk relative to the flywheel, a VW 3190 mandrel (Fig. 230) simulating the splined end of the gearbox primary shaft is used. The old gearbox primary shaft can be used for centering;
- tighten the bolts securing the clutch housing to the flywheel evenly crosswise and tighten them to a torque of 25 Nm. In this case, the flywheel should be locked in a stationary position with a lock. At the service station "Volkswagen" for this purpose, the VW 3067 clamp is used (Fig. 230);
- after installing the gearbox on the engine, check the quality of the clutch operation.
